The cup has nice bands of floral die rolled decoration on the base and the handle. The front is monogrammed NAB inside a wreath of leaves. The original presentation on the underside of the cup reads, “Nancy Adams Briggs, 25 January 1831”. Years later a second presentation was added above the wreath cartouche that reads, “Charlotte Denny, 1915”. Probably a relative/descendent of the original owner. The cup was almost certainly made by a Boston or New York maker. The condition is excellent. There is a solder repair at the lower juncture of the handle and the body, but the repair was well done and is not very noticeable. There are no other repairs, no dents, no splits, and no breaks. The cup measures 3 3/4 inches wide and 4 inches tall. The weight is 84.9 grams or 3 ounces.
