Description
You are bidding on a lamp the base of which is a Chinese Cloisonne vase from the 1850’s. The lamp is fitted with a carved wood base and brass stem and finial, as well as two bulb sockets with individual pulls. The conversion was done years ago but was recently dismantled in order to date the vase itself. At that time the lamp was also rewired.   The pictures show the original bottom of the vase with the hole drilled for the electrical wire; the Chinese makers mark is still there. The vase is in magnificent condition with not a scratch or chip anywhere on it! Original vase portion is 14” tall but the entire lamp, from base to finial, is 34.” At its widest, the vase is 9.”   It comes WITHOUT the lampshade pictured but if desired, we will sell you the shade for an additional $50 over your winning bid.
