The striking detail about the decoration are two sculpted rampant tigers, who lively seem to be crawling to the recipient to drink water. All around the vessel, a rim with inscriptions (detail pictured). 7-1/2 inches or 19 cm diameter 10-1/2 inches or 26,5 cm from handle to handle 4-1/2 inches or 11,5 cm high Chinese Spring and Autumn period (770-475 BC). Beautiful malachite encrustrations consistent with prolonged burial, small corrosion points, but overall in good condition, rings, handles and rampant animals well attached to body, no major cracks.
