This is a wonderful pair of antique spectacles. They look like Benjamin Franklin could easily have sported them. They are in a rather rough but still intact and functioning now metal perhaps once leather covered case and there is a velvet liner that is loose. The spectacles are gold color though I do not think they are actual gold and the lenses are glass and make things look much bigger. The case measures 5 x 2 x ½ inches. They are at least Civil War era and might be earlier. The case is rough the glasses used overall in good antique condition.
